Koffi Olomide has been married to Aliane Olomide since 1993. They have seven children together.

He began his music career as a lyricist for other singers in the early 1970s. In 1978, he released his debut album, Ngobila. In 1983, he formed Quartier Latin International, which went on to become one of the most successful African bands of all time.
